How To Choose Your Perfect Travel Destination
Since Champagne 'N' Cocaine is a lifestyle brand dedicated to champagne & travel, it's only fitting that we take a moment to discuss the necessity of travel in one's life.
Last year I spent the summer in Europe. 10 countries. 3 months. Summer 2018 = EPIC.
I took close to 4,000 pictures and have so many exciting stories to share with you guys that will be in blog posts to come. To start with, I want to share with you my perspective on why travel is so important for everyone. I began traveling abroad at the age of two, so because it was almost a sink or swim situation, I have absolutely ZERO reservations when it comes to getting on the next plane, spontaneously booking a trip, going to a foreign country alone and so on and so forth. You get the idea... yet I meet so many people that haven't yet taken the opportunity to leave their country and explore the world! My question is WHY?
THAT. RIGHT. THERE.
Constantly people express their fears of venturing into other countries for a plethora of reasons, yet when you break it down it's simply a conundrum of either preconceived ideas or misconceptions that quite frankly need to be swiftly dispelled in order to allow ourselves to be open to new experiences.
Once we have rid ourselves of the fear of the unknown, it's time for the fun part - TRAVEL! To me, travel broadens your horizons in such an extensive manner making it possible to truly discover who you are and what you want to achieve in life. The necessity of travel is unequivocally aligned with our brand's movement because it allows you to immerse yourself in revolutionary experiences and define your destiny.
To get out of the country you are going to need one very important document - YOUR PASSPORT! Depending on where you live, passport processing policies may differ, but generally you can get an expedited passport in less than two weeks, in some cases even SAME DAY. Of course, you can wait for the usual timeframe of 4-8 weeks, but who does that?! Once you have your passport, check the visa requirements of the country or place that you are visiting and you are set. All of this information can be easily obtained by visiting your government's travel requirements website.
Now, where do you want to go? What is your DREAM DESTINATION?Is there a place that you have always dreamed about going to? What's your favorite food? Any particular place that your friends have visited and upon their return all they do is rave about their trip and say "OMG, you just HAVE to go there!"? All of these questions can really help you envision your ideal travel destination.
Allow your senses to fully open and take your mind to a place of pure fantasy. TRANSFORM YOUR TRAJECTORIES. Remove any negative thoughts or notions that the media, your friends or your family have projected on you and take the time to really decide where YOU want to go. Doing this exercise will determine - without any inhibitions - the ideal place for you to go. It may take a few times of completing this exercise to truly escape to your dream destination.
Listen to your favorite songs while you are doing so - the ones that give you goosebumps- as music allows your soul to open up to a whole new creative level. EDM or house music will always whisk your mind, body & soul away to a whimsical place where limits just don't exist.
Once you have decided upon your travel destination, it's time to book! When I booked my trip to Dubai in January 2018, I was on the travel app " Hitlist" and stumbled across the section "Trending". My thought process was "Ok, I'm going to swipe left and wherever my finger lands is where I'm going." I closed my eyes, swiped left - Just like Tinder LOL - and my finger hit Dubai. Five minutes later, my round-trip ticket to the UAE was booked. Ironically, I had wanted to go to Dubai for the last ten years. Ten years I waited and in a power play move of just going with my gut and clicking "BOOK NOW", in 5 mins my dream became a reality.
Talk about a fucking crazy example of manifestation, I had put two post-it's on my wardrobe door, just eight weeks prior to booking my trip. One said 2018, the other said DUBAI. I hadn't even placed them on the door to envision any sort of vacation, in fact I had put them there in order to expand a portion of my business to Dubai. But, every night when I closed my eyes and every morning upon rising, I saw those two post-it's and in a whirlwind moment of spontaneity, I truly manifested it.
You see my friends, procrastination is the killer of all dreams. Science tells us that we have approx. 3 seconds from the time that our brain has an idea to us actually executing, before some type of fear kicks in and gives us an excuse as to why not move forward with the plan. This was kind of a crazy way of booking a trip, but it always made a memory that I will never forget and will continue to share for decades to come.
No matter how you choose to select your destination for your travel, do it with purpose. And then just book it! The world is your oyster! If you are someone that has already traveled expansively, then this post should resonate with you pretty strongly! Continue traveling to the wildest, craziest, most iconic places and fill your passport with as many stamps as you can.
Travel not only allows your infinite possibilities, but you also get to make so many new friends, taste a multitude of different cuisines, learn new languages and most importantly, live The Good Life! So, go out there, figure out where the hell in the world you want to go, book your ticket, plan your trip and GO! Even if it's just for a few days or a weekend, JUST DO IT. You won't regret it. And be sure to check out our hoodies & sweatshirts to fly in both style and comfort as you fly!
I'm going to not only write upcoming posts sharing all my fun travel experiences, but I'll also compile collections of useful resources making it easier for you to be able plan your next getaway!
Until next time darlings, fly free (no pun intended) and live your best life!
